Project Manager

Position Overview

The Project Manager will report to the Dept. Manager of the Central Kitchen Dept. and/or General Manager of the Product Management Division. This position will be responsible for establishing the Central Kitchen local facility, creating, and maintaining the Central Kitchen records, and assisting the Central Kitchen Production Manager in handling the preliminary financing, coordination and consultation of upcoming infrastructure, locational, and operational matters of the Central Kitchen Department. In addition, the Project Manager is accountable for coordinating, developing, and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships among various parties (e.g., AFC members, consultants, real estate firms, community organizations, architects, constructions managers, government liaisons, etc.)

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Primary Job Functions (85%)

      • Create annual budgets and monitor numbers with Production Manager, and report to Dept Manager.
      • Facility planning and management of overhead costs, ingredients, supplies, and other operational purchases for Profit & Loss data maintenance.
      • Structure and coordinate financial data with Corporate Planning Division, including the due diligence process.
      • Assist and manage the pre-development activities and project financing tasks of projects under development, (e.g., inventory control, sales data reports, P/L reports, DPR, analysis, etc.).
      • Coordinate the installation/replacement of kitchen equipment; confirm with Production Manager.
      • Research local facilities for suitability and propose to Dept Manager.
      • Collect/Monitor/Report production schedules.
      • Hire support staff and update Job Descriptions.
      • Communicate with each division/department within AFC on essential and necessary information, including client requests and sales updates to BDD.
      • Monitor and assist with production schedules and staffing requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services.
      • Responsible for successful coordination, completion, and submittal of requests for proposals/approvals.
      • Must attend all scheduled employee meetings, provide meeting notes/topics, and offer suggestions for improvement.

Travel (10%)

      • Routinely visit the Central Kitchens to meet with the Production Manager to conduct management reviews including prospective location expansions, Profit/Loss assessment, and budgeting. Report meeting minutes to the Division General Manager.
      • Perform store visits to locations around potential Central Kitchen sites; Travel to specific State/City for prospective Central Kitchen Locations and/or special projects.

Other Job Functions (5%)

      • Additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

      • BA/BS degree, Food Science and/or related field or equivalent.
      • Experience in Restaurant, retail, or food manufacturing management experience. (3-5 years preferred).
      • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with short-notice changes.
      • Able to multi-task.
      • Fast Learner.
      • Great communicator in a multicultural environment, both verbal and written.
      • Strong analytical skills, as well as organizational and planning skills with high attention to detail
      • Strong sense of urgency and result orientated.
      • Knowledge of retail/food/restaurant management; time management
      • Time keeping; advanced record keeping; inventory management; production planning.
      • Computer proficiency, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables and V-Look Up), Word, and Power Point
      • Detail-oriented; inter-personal communications

Physical Requirements:

      • Prolong periods of standing and walking
      • Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs.

Salary range:  $58,000-$67,000.00/annually
